Modelling of beam energy absorbed locally in conduction mode laser metal fusion

چکیده
Fluid dynamics models for laser material processing with metal fusion in conduction mode generally assume a constant absorptivity. This parameter is known to govern the process. However, it used be pre-set by extrapolating absorptance measurements made at different conditions or adjusted reproduce experimental bead shapes. In this study new approach developed. It consists predicting as function of local surface conditions, including temperature. The proposed model applied alloy Ti-6Al-4V. found that changes temperature over wide range beam incidence angles. Thermo-fluid simulations tracking free-surface deformation are performed welding test cases Yb fibre and travel speeds. absorptivity coefficient commonly process clearly underestimates melt pool geometry predicted study. computational results also compared against good quantitative agreement depth, width, length, free contour geometry, curvature end depression left after re-solidification switch-off location obtained. show field depends on development stage, spatial within spot, conditions.

Calculations of absorbed dose and energy dependent of small-scale dosimeters for photons beam therapy
In this study, the energy dependency for dosimeters of air ionization chambers, lithium fluoride, silicon and plastic scintillator has been studied using the MCNPX Monte Carlo simulation code and simulated for gamma energy in the range of radiotherapy energy. The simulation results show that the response of each of the dosimeters for gamma photon beams in the energy range of 0.2 to 20 MeV varie...
متن کاملModelling the PWM SEPIC Converter in Discontinuous Conduction Mode
A full-order dynamic model of the pulse-width modulation (PWM) DC-to-DC SEPIC converter in discontinuous conduction mode (DCM) is presented in this paper. The derivation procedure is based on the smallsignal PWM switch model in DCM used in conjunction with a PWM derived SEPIC topology. The small-signal characteristics of the PWM SEPIC converter in DCM obtained in a similar way as the small-sign...
متن کاملLaser beam studies of RPC behaviour in avalanche mode
Primary ionization is created inside the gas gap of a small size ð10 20 cmÞ RPC, analogous to the RPC of the ATLAS muon detector, by focusing a pulsed (width p0:5 ns) nitrogen laser beam (transverse diameter E15 mm). With this set-up we can characterize the behaviour of the RPC by measuring such parameters as drift velocity and gas amplification. For an ATLAS-like gas mixture (97% C2H2F4; 3% is...

Digital Holographic interferometry is a powerful and widely used optical technique for accurate measurement of variations in physical quantities such as density, refractive index, and etc. In this study, an experimental digital holographic interferometry setup was designed and used to measure the amount of energy changes induced by absorption of radiation from a non-ionizing infrared laser beam...

Being able to accurately characterise the terahertz performance of simple metal conductors is very important for the CAD modelling of components, circuits and systems operating at these frequencies. A comprehensive survey of published experimental data for the room temperatnre surface resistance of simple metals, from DC up to the edge of the mid-infrared frequency range, has been undertaken. I...
